Your Questions About Sweating While Sleeping

Paul asks…

How to prevent sweating while sleeping drunk?

The last two times i got drunk and fall to sleep. When i woke up i was covered with sweat, and the bed as well. Its a little embarrassing when ur sleeping in someone else’s bed. Ive read a little bit on the internet about why it happens, but is there a way to prevent it or at least slow it down. Thanks

Brian answers:

Drink lots of water so that you go pee.
The alcohol will drain out and you will start feeling better.
Alcohol dehydrates so you need to have water to feel better.

Mandy asks…

sweating while sleeping with a sinus infection?

I’ve had a bad sinus infection for about a week, and the last few nights I’ve woken up in the middle of the night covered in sweat, and it makes it extremely difficult to go back to sleep. It’s not really a cold sweat like you get when you have a fever, just a regular sweat. Does anybody know why this is happening and how I can get it to stop?

Brian answers:

Could be ur fever has gone up while ur sleeping u didn’t say but I know sumtimes when I take an antibiotic it makes me sweat.
Hope u get to feelin better soon!!

40 Year Old Man Sweating While Sleeping?

It seems I sweat at night while sleeping, cold or hot weather, after drinking alcohol, or not. What gives? I am otherwise very healthy.

Brian answers:

Your low on your minerals. Nothing major is happening to you.

It can be something as simple as Iron to calcium.
I would take a good daily mineral.

Linda asks…

What could be the cause of intense sweating while sleeping?

Quite often, but especially in the last few days, I’ve been sweating so much while sleeping. I’m 20, I sleep alone in a double bed, I don’t take any medicines, my bed linen is good quality (100% cotton), but I sweat so much that it gets soaking wet. It literally looks like I’ve wet myself…

You might say that the room temperature is too hot, but it’s actually a bit chilly. And because of that, when my sweaty skin is in contact with chilly air, I feel really really cold and keep waking up every 5 minutes and can’t get a decent sleep session.

What could be the reason for this? Or the solution?

Thanks
Oh yeah, I had a cut in my thigh 2 weeks ago and I had to get 5 stitches. Their removal was overdue by 3 days and the skin around the wound was getting red. So I suppose it’s this infection that’s making me sweat

Brian answers:

All of the answers are good … Infection or nightmares that you don’t remember when waking up. My guess is an infection somewhere in your body. An extreme improbability is rheumatoid arthritis. You’re too young for that.

John asks…

sweating while sleeping?

my boyfriends sweats lots in bed while he sleeps. he sweats that bad that he looks like he has just got out a shower the blankets are soaking wet
he has puddles on his chest and hes like this all night
is this normal

Brian answers:

If this happens all the time, regardless of covers, A/C, etc, he needs to see a doctor. Night sweats can be a sign of a couple of things he needs to have treated if he has it.

Lizzie asks…

Sweating heavily while sleeping?

Is it normal for some to sweat heavily while they sleep? By heavily I mean nearly drenched in sweat. If it’s not normal, what could it be caused from? Possibly glandular?
This question is in specific regards to my husband. He is not taking any medication, he is overweight though. He’s 25 and he sweats heavily like this when ever he sleeps, it doesn’t matter where.

Brian answers:

I wud check it out by a doctor just to be sure ur ok and everything but its probably nothing but u shud still check it out.
Hope i helped.

Joseph asks…

Sweating while sleeping…will this hurt my baby?

I am 22 weeks pregnant and I wake up almost every night sweating profusely! I wear very light pajamas to bed but I live in the Chicago area and at night it gets below zero so I still use a blanket. And when I initally go to sleep I feel comfortable. But then I wake up and I have to change because I sweat so badly. I am worried because you are not supposed to raise your body temperature (ie hot tubs, hot baths, etc). Is this going to hurt my baby? Is this normal?

Thanks! :)

Brian answers:

It is totally hormonal and totally natural. Don’t worry about raising the termperature of your body, it will never get as high as a hot, hot bath or sauna. The sweating is the hormone levels just getting screwy, kind of like in menopause. You will be fine and it should stay like this for too long (then you will have other symptoms to worry about! Ha). Keep drinking water as the sweat can be dehydrating and you and your baby need lots of water.
Good luck
