A Hyperhidrosis Treatment To Control Excess Sweating

Do you realize your body has 4 million sweat glands and that a lot of them are in your hands, feet, face and underarms?

Statistics show that approximately 3 percent of the earth’s population or, over 175 million individuals, have problems with an excess sweating condition known as hyperhidrosis? One that can easily be genetically inherited resulting in several members of the same family all having the condition. This is, quite often, a very serious problem. Of all the forms that hyperhidrosis can take, the most frequent is known as “Palmar Hyperhidrosis” which is regular and excessive sweat in the palms of the hands.

If you are one of those who suffer with this affliction, you know that this sort of sweat problems present a regular daily struggle because it not merely influences your physical well-being, but it also impacts your emotional well-being as well. Your excess sweating has to be taken into account in everything from how you dress for the day, to how it affects personal relationships and, possibly even your career.

And that is something most non sufferers do not understand. If your career depends on constant personal interactions, such as sales, excess sweating is a real problem. Or, if you are in research or instrumentation your ability to securely hold laboratory equipment or small tools can easily be compromised.

Clearly, hyperhidrosis is often a serious problem, but it is also one that can be handled quite successfully.

Over time, medical research has developed many different types of hyperhidrosis treatment.

Most radical is surgery that cuts the sympathetic nerve stem to the hands. While this approach will generally cure the sweat problems, there are drawbacks as well. Surgery is expensive and always carries some risk of complications. Also, it is not recommended for anyone still in their teenage years which is when hyperhidrosis is most often identified.

Other methods of sweating remedies include anti-perspirants and heavy creams that are applied directly to the areas with the sweating symptoms. Although these remedies will stop your excess sweating for a while, they are not cures and the sweat will return.

But, research has demonstrated that one hyperhidrosis treatment, iontophoresis, is extremely effective at controlling excess sweating of both the hands and feet.

An iontophoresis machine is a device that generates a safe, weak, electrical current into a dish of water where you place your hands or feet. The interaction of the minerals in the water with the current works to close the sweat glands and preventing your sweating symptom.

A commercial iontophoresis machine will cost upwards of a thousand dollars but can easily be put together at home for less than a hundred dollars.

Excess Sweating Treatments Review – Stop Excessive Under Arm Sweating Problems Naturally

Sweating a lot can be very embarrassing, especially since it can be difficult to hide. Going around with sweat stains on your clothes alerts everyone to your problem and the sweat can also begin to smell quite badly. For people who sweat far too much, there are excess sweating treatments.

Hyperhidrosis is another term used for excessive sweating. When someone sweats excessively, it does not appear to be happening for any legitimate reason, like strenuous exercise or feelings of anxiety. Instead, it comes out of nowhere during the hours a person is awake and usually occurs on the feet or on the hands.

The causes of hyperhidrosis are still unknown. However, some doctors believe that it can be inherited or is the result of a sympathetic nervous system that is overactive.

There may be certain activities that trigger the sweating. These may include consuming caffeine, nicotine, or certain drinks or foods. Others may experience it after injuring their spines, developing a lesion on the brain, or having a disorder of the nervous system.

An antiperspirant might be prescribed for some people. The antiperspirant will be applied to the areas where there is excessive sweat and will have a good amount of aluminum chloride in it. Though this should help reduce the sweat, it may also cause skin irritation.

Botulinum toxin might be injected into some people in order to stop the sweating. It has been approved for the under arm area and lasts for less than a year, in general.

If botox injections and applying antiperspirants regularly does not appeal to you, there are other excess sweating treatments. Many people take prescription medications by mouth. However, there can be side effects, such as feeling drowsy or having dry eyes. Some people elect surgery. However, surgery has its risks and is not always effective in treating the condition. There is also sweat gland reduction treatment.

Excessive Sweating Cure: Find The Cause & Don’t Just Cover It Up

Excessive sweating is uncomfortable and embarrassing. Most people when they find that sweating is a problem for them, they will try to find a way of covering it up. This is because a lot of the information available to people suggest that the cause of excessive sweating is unknown and that all you can do is try to cover it.

This is actually untrue. There are many different reasons for excessive sweating but the reasons are unique to the individual. We all maybe be made up of the same stuff but we all have our differences. It is these differences that make us special and awesome.

Having differences means that if you want to cure your excess sweat and not just cover it up, then you need to start paying attention to your body and yourself. Discovering what is wrong with you and what you can do is powerful. Learning and knowing how to look after yourself is great and means you won’t have to settle for cover ups.

So what can you do to discover what is the issue with you?

First and foremost you have to take a look at your lifestyle and personality. Do you have a naturally anxious personality? Do you cope with stress well? Do you have a highly stressful job? Do you give yourself time to relax? Do you eat well? Do you eat a lot of spicy foods, drink a lot of alcohol? Are you overweight? The list of questions go on!

You may have noticed what I am getting out through the questions already posed. High stress, high anxiety and poor dietary choices along with other factors could contribute to your sweating issue.

Take the time to look at these factors and adjust them. First and foremost if your job is stressful and you can’t change it, learn ways to deal with the stress and give yourself time to relax. Stress and anxiety are big contributors to excessive sweating.

If you are eating very well start adding more whole raw foods into your diet and start cutting out junk. Cutting out salt will also help prevent you from being dehydrated. This leads me to say that should also be including as much water as you can. Dehydration can lead to excessive sweating as well because your body cannot cool itself down properly without being properly hydrated.

If you could benefit from losing a few pounds, lose them. Sweating issues correlate with being overweight and being overweight leads to dehydration, poor food choices and extra strains on your digestive system (i.e, stress).

In conclusion: sort your life out. Live healthier and with les stress and excess sweating could be an issue of the past for you.
