Virtually every person on this Earth has been in a stressful situation before. More than likely, during that stressful situation, we started to sweat. Even though this is a natural reaction for our body, many times stressful situations lead to an excessive amount of underarm sweat which in turn leads to a lack of self-confidence and an extreme amount of embarrassment. These factors lead to a poor social life, something no one wants to have. Excessive sweat is an extremely common problem, but not many people know that one of the main solutions to the problem is simple; all you have to do is stay calm.
Staying calm during times of stress or intense nervousness starts with a healthy diet and exercise. A healthy body helps a healthy mind, which leads to a healthy amount of sweat leaving your body. Improving ones diet can lead to a decrease in sweat during stressful situations. The most important factor of reducing excessive underarm sweat during stressful situations is having a clear mind. The more you think about sweating, the more you will actually sweat. It will take time and practice, but you should be diligent in your attempts to completely forget about your sweating problem. This is the key factor for many people in fixing their excessive underarm sweat. If you can keep your mind clear, you WILL NOT sweat. Thinking about sweating just leads to you sweating even more than you already are. A simple technique that can help you learn to forget about sweating is to wear a jacket or a light windbreaker, which shields your underarms from view. Knowing that nobody can see whether you have pit stains or not can boost your self-confidence, and help make you forget about your sweating problem. This was one of my main resolutions for fixing my own sweating problem.
Here is a quick checklist you can run through in your mind during a stressful situation that should help you keep calm:
1. Take a deep breath.
2. Picture yourself in your mind resolving the situation at hand successfully
3. Be grateful to learn from the situation
4. Grin and bear it.
This may seem like a very, very basic checklist, but it works. Give it a shot. You have nothing to lose.
