Sweating Physiology

Can you help with this Physiology as I dont understand this subject (BODY FLUID)?
1-Describe the different fluid compartments of the body(Intercellular ICF, Extracellular ECF, Plasma etc)
2-Give an account of the composition of body fluids(electrolytes, plasma etc)
3-Define water balance and describe the different sources of intake and output (drinking, food, excretion, sweat etc)
4-Give an account of the regulation of water balance (hormonal control via ADH, renal mechanisms etc)
1. ICF = stands for intRAcellular, not intERcellular…dont get these confused because they do mean 2 different things. intRAcellular is talking about the gluid inside the cell.
ECF = same things as intERcellular fluid. Basically its the fluid outside of the cell. But because there are neighbouring cells, the fluid outside the cell is also the fluid between 2 cells and thus its also referred to as intERcellular fluid.
Plasma = your blood is composed mainly of water, red blood cells and white blood cells. Yes there are a few other things in there as well but those are the main ones. Plasma is the water in there.
2. If you are looking for a specific number or a percentage of the make up of those things with respect to the rest of the body then i have no clue, if you mean something else by it then please be more specific.
3. Water balance is one of those things that important for homeostasis. The water you take in must be equal to the water you put out.
Methods of intake..food and water (other drinks like juice and tea fall under water category)
Methods of Excretion…sweat, urine, feces, expiration.
4. ADH – anti diuretic hormone works on the kidney by closing the sodium channels in the nephron (kidney). This way salt is not secreted but is kept inside the body and as u may know, wherever salt goes, water follows.
Renal basically filters out extra sodium as well as the pressure gradient of water.
Intestines – we absorb water from our stomach obviously. However if we do not consume enough soluble fiber or are sick, then not enough water will be absorbed and you will have diarhea. This is why ppl that have diarhea are told to drink extra fluids because it can dehydrate you to the point of death.
