Nightmares Sweating

how many nightmares do you have that you wake up from all sweating and scarred?
I have them every so often…a condition of PTSD, I am very used to them now, so I just do whatever I have to do to get comfortable again. When I have a boyfriend over I just go snuggle with him until I calm down again. Sometimes I just take a nice warm bath or I read or watch tv. Or do something mindless on the Internet. I have dogs visit from time to time and they are comforting. So, basically, I just do a variety of things until the “terror” passes and go back to sleep. It has gotten a lot easier as the years pass, I can now live by myself and stay functional, although I do require naps to make up for lost sleep. I also have learned to do this with out medication support, but that was only done with the assistance of a qualified physician, do not stop taking meds on your own. Good luck.
