When should I start going back to the gym?
I got really sick with a stomach virus about a month ago. It gave me nausea, fever, abdominal pain, night sweats, bloating, loss of appetite, and diarrhea. That wore off within about a week, but then I began to get a sinus infection a few days later. This thing gave me a sore throat, ear pain, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, and sinus headaches. Most of these symptoms, other than the headaches, have completely worn off now (and the headaches aren’t as constant). The stomach and sinus bugs combined lasted almost a month, and I still feel lightheaded at times (it’s not vertigo or even dizziness, just a weird feeling in my head from time to time), so should I wait to go back to the gym? I’ve pretty much gained back the 5 lbs. I lost during the stomach virus, so am I good?
I would go back. You never know for sure until you try. If you go and feel even more lightheaded, then you will know that you need to wait. But if you think about it, your body gets in worse shape every day you wait. Not to mention, a lot of times working out helps you sweat out the bacteria that’s giving you trouble.
