Human Sweating

do turtles get cancer from human sweat when you pick them up or touch their shells?
not from the human having cancer but from the chemicals in our sweat.
WHAT? Nonsense. While humans can easily give turtles cold-like viruses and a few other things, there is NO WAY to transmit CANCER between ANY living creatures via touch- cancer is NOT transmitted that way in any way, shape, or form.
This does not mean it is smart to touch turtles. You might pick up Salmonella (not a big deal, but an avoidable annoyance) or cause the poor turtle great stress.

Chemicals in our sweat causing cancer?
Turtles do not generally get cancer, and billions of people have had pet turtles- if this had ANY truth to it, it would be well known by now.
Someone is either pulling your leg, or they are misinformed.
