Chemo Sweating

Fiancee with cancer – please help
!?
8 years ago my fiancee battled a short battle of non-hodgkins lymphoma. He found 2 lumps in his groin area and they were removed and tested positive for non-hodgkins lymphoma. It’s been 8 years since then and he has been doing great! He did not have to complete any chemo or radiation or anything, he got healthy himself.
2 weeks ago he found a lump in his collarbone/pressure point area. It first stated painful and now continues to get smaller and then larger and now he has no pain. Tomorrow is the big day – his oncologist will more than likely remove it for a biopsy. I am so scared he is going to die – I dont understand this 5 year survival stuff i read about…..
What I dont understand is all of his blood work is normal from a month ago, thats the only thing keeping me going, and he has no other symptoms like fever or night sweats….Any information on nhl would be helpful!
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my worries ![]()
You really shouldn’t worry so much, it isn’t good for you (or your fiancee), and it does no good anyway! You also shouldn’t worry because there is probably nothing to worry about; since he’s had a “history”, your fiancee has been smart enough or diligent enough to get regular check-ups, which means that even IF (big if) that lump is a tumor (benign or malignant), they found it sooner that most (because most guys don’t go to the doctor soon enough), and they will be able to treat it.
The fact that it was painful also suggests it may not be cancer at all, most cancer doesn’t “hurt” so much as interfere with normal bodily functions when a tumor gets in the way…
If his bloodwork from a month ago is normal, it may well just be a cyst caused by a physical injury or something.
Don’t fret!
